made in America, Hobe was French born, 1915-1995, the oval cartouche with copyright mark ( as this piece ) was used 1958-1983. Widely considered to have coined the phrase "costume jewellery" in relation to the fabulous pieces he made for his clients in the glamorous Hollywood post war boom of the 1940's
